1. What major conflicts are revealed in the opening scene?

2. What does the film say about Americans' understading of WWI in the years beofre the country declared war on Germany?

3. What new conflicts arise after Larry and Gray return from France?

4. Look back at your lst of conflicts...are they all resolved at the end of the story? Is Larry's internal cnnflict resolved? Do you find the ending satisfying? Why or why not?
