Woodrow Wilson was able to win the election of 1912 for a simple reason, a third party. Due to Taft's actions during his presidency Roosevelt decided to run against him. Since people for Taft also were for Roosevelt, the votes were split. This split in votes easily allowed Wilson to gain the majority of votes and win the race. Also Wilson's and Roosevelt's views were alike, except Wilson was harsher, so some of Roosevelt's supporters could have migrated over to Wilson's side. This is why Wilson was easily able to win as a Democrat.

Woodrow Wilson was able to win the election of 1912 for many reasons. One of these reasons is that Roosevelt was unable to win the Republican ballot against Taft. This was because Roosevelt began speaking about “New Nationalism.” New Nationalism was Roosevelt’s speaking tour during 1910. It called for better regulation of corporations and social reforms. Worker’s compensation was one of the reforms that he talked about, and it meant that employers had to buy insurance for their workers. Wilson also had a plan for reform, which he called the “New Freedom.” Roosevelt wanted to regulate trusts, while Wilson wanted them destroyed because he viewed them as a threat to the economy. When Roosevelt lost the Republican nomination, his followers started their own party and nominated him as their candidate. Wilson was the actual benefactor of this split because the Republican Party was split between people who supported Roosevelt and people who supported Taft. This gave Wilson the major advantage because he carried 40 states, which ensured his victory over Taft and Roosevelt.

Wilson won the Presidency for many reasons. He had very similar views of the Roosevelt on reform. His plan was called New freedom which would regulate trust and would destroy monopolies. Since Roosevelt was not nominated by the Republican Party he was nominated by the progressives. This split the Republican Party. Since the Republican Party was split this made it easy for Woodrow Wilson to carry 40 states and win the election.

In 1912, Woodrow Wilson won a SWEEPING victory as president of the United States of America. BAM. Wilson, a democrat and the governer of New Jersey, had alot of views and ideas for his country. One of them was to advocate reform. He wanted change, and his plan was known as "New Freedom." Unlike Roosevelt, Wilson was definitly not content with just reglating trusts. He wanted those monopolies ABOLISHED! Surely Wilson believes it was his hardcore ambition and love from the fans (voters) that won him the election, but there was another MAJOR component that went into his success. Roosevelt was actually running against Taft. This republican vs. former republican action totally split the republican votes. THUS, Wilson's presidency was "in the bag." For those of you who are going to pretend you don't know what that means (sure, you reaaallly actually don't know), anyways his spot was pretty much guranteed. Wilson rocked the whitehouse. The end. Fin. Adios.

Woodrow Wilson was able to win the election of 1912 for many resons. First, he has the similar view point with Roosevelt. Roosevelt had did a successful job during his term before which makes voters support Wilson's view point too.
Second, since Wilson's point of view similar to Roosevelt, however Wilson believed that monopolies were a threat to free enterprise and should be abolished, which is stronger than Roosevelt's.
Third, Republican party vote was divde between Roosevelt and another candidate Taft, which makes Wilson easier to win the election.

Woodrow Wilson was able to win the election of 1912 for a couple of reasons, one of the reasons he was able to win was that he had very similar views of the Roosevelt on reform, another was Taft's actions made Roosevelt decide to run against him. since people that were for taft were for Roosevelt
the votes were split. Now Wilson had a better chance of winning.

There were several reasons why Woodrow Wilson was able to win the election of 1912. He wanted a kind of reform that differed from what Roosevelt wanted. Woodrow Wilson wanted to get rid of Monopolies. The main reason why Wilson won was that the people who wanted to elect Roosevelt were usually the same people who wanted to elect Taft, so the votes were split between the two. This gave Wilson a great advantage over both of them.

I just read over that and it still doesn't sound right. I'm out of time now, though... oops.

The vast majority of American presidents between 1856 and 1913 were Republican, but this changed around the time of the Progressive era. Taft, Roosevelt, and Wilson were respectively the Republican, Progressive, and Democratic nominees for president in the 1912 election. Many Republicans were attracted to the Progressive party, which caused the Republican vote to be split between the two parties. Wilson won the majority and was elected President. This result also had to to with Taft's previous presidential blunders and Roosevelt's subsequent removal of his support.

President wilson won the presidency with his progresive views and public likability. He won over the other opponents for won major reason. when roosevelt did not win the republican nomination he and his supporters formed a third party, the progressive party. many republicans followed him causing a split between the republican vote. with not enough votes going towards one person in the republican party. woodrow wilson won the election of 1912 winning 40 states.

Woodrow Wilson was able to win the Election of 1912 because of his ‘New Freedom’ program. This program differed from Roosevelt’s reform plan. Roosevelt wanted to control trusts. Wilson wanted to abolish monopolies, because they were a peril to free enterprise. The Republican Party was divided into two representatives, Taft and Roosevelt. Wilson was voted for by forty states -- consequently, he won the election :)

Woodrow Wilson was able to win the election of 1912 for a bunch of reasons. The main reason he won was because of Taft's decision to run agaist him. Wilson had the same views as Roosevelt, on the reform. Also, Wilson wanted change, so he created the plan "New Freedom". The Republican party was soon split, forming a third party. Since the party was split, this made it very simple for Wilson to carry on the election and win 40 states.

Woodrow Wilson was only the second democratic President since James Buchanan able to win the election of 1912 for many reasons. The use of a third party that caused the republican vote to split between Taft and Roosevelt, eventually led to Wilson's victory. Also, the program " New Freedom" didn't just regulate trusts, but completely abolished them. Since Roosevelt's and Taft's views on reform were so alike, Wilson ended with the win.

A unique combination of circumstances led Wilson to win the 1912 election. Between the Civil War and Buchanan’s disastrous presidency, it seemed that the Democratic Party would not win another election for a very long time. The factor that led to their victory was a third candidate, Theodore Roosevelt. Roosevelt had been an extremely popular president. Taft had been a rather unpopular one. So when Roosevelt decided to form the Bull Moose Party and run as a third candidate, a significant portion of the Republican Party broke away to support him. With the Republican vote split, Wilson managed to win forty states with his dramatic reform policies.

Woodrow Wilson, the Democratic party nominee for the Election of 1912, was able to end the 76 year period of Republican domination in the Oval Office for numerous reasons. When Taft's "progressive" reforms, such as the moderate Payne-Aldrich Tariff, were not enough for Theodore Roosevelt, who had previously supported the man and his policies, he decided to campaign against Taft in the Election of 1912. On his campaign trail, Roosevelt advocated what he called "the New Nationalism", with stricter regulation on big business, and labor reforms like workers' compensation. However, at the Republican Convention, Taft was chose over Roosevelt. With this choice, Roosevelt's supporters broke from the Republican party and formed the Bull Moose party, or Progressive Party. The Democratic nominee for the election was Wodrow Wilson, progressive governor of New Jersey. His platform, called "New Freedom", had more progressive ideals such as the abolishing of trusts completley. The Progressive Party and its appeal to many Republicans, split the votes of the Republican party, allowing for Democrat victory in forty states, carrying Wodrow Wilson all the way to the White House.

Woodrow Wilson won the 1912 election with his combination of progressive thinking and steadfast manner. He supported the New Freedom, which was a hope to destroy all monopolies because of its effect on free enterprise. During the election, the Bull Moose Party was created, headed by Roosevelt. The division of the Republican party led to Wilson's landslide win making him the second democratic President.
